It is finally here, bow season starts this Saturday September 28th.
Prior to hunting this fall, all hunters are reminded that they must sign FTL’s Release of Liability and Hunting Rules acknowledgment forms available at the FTL office. Make sure each hunter signs the forms, not just the member. A clipboard with registration forms and tags is set up in the back of the Lake Office.
For 2024, tree stands and blinds must display a red marking tag. These tags are available at the Lake office and must include the member’s last name and lot number on them to be valid. Members are asked to limit semi-permanent tree stands and ground blinds to two per member. A climber stand that is removed after each hunt does not count towards this recommendation, provided the climber must also have a red tag. After 10/31/24, untagged stands and blinds are subject to removal. If a tag is lost it is the hunter’s responsibility to promptly obtain a replacement.
Hunters are responsible for knowing and adhering to all FTL hunting rules and members are responsible for those hunting in their privilege. Read the current bow hunting rules and regulations HERE.
Harvested deer must be reported to both the WVDNR and Fish and Conservation Committee Chairman Roger Fraley 304-237-6308. You may also report them through the website here:
Hunters are reminded that our forest and trail system is shared by multiple users. Please keep our forest tidy and promptly remove any old or unused stands, chairs, feeders, and other equipment and trash. Thank you for your cooperation.
