Labor Day Weekend Bass Tournament Results

17 anglers, in nine boats, left the Beach dock at 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning looking to catch some of FTL’s quality bass and enjoy the great weather.

When the tournament concluded at 11:30 a.m. the live fish weigh in began.   Each team brought their 5 biggest bass to the scales.

The team of Patrick Campbell and Scott Settle came out on top with 5 bass weighing 14.19 pounds. The team also took the Big Bass prize with a 4.65 pound largemouth. Campbell was mum when asked for details on his success. He said he’d been taking lessons from Ivan Lilly on how not to give away fishing secrets.

Second place, with 11.59 pounds went to the last minute formed team of Chuck Jimison and Eric Serdoz. Look for them to pair up again.

Third place honors went to Jeff Lambert with 10.93 pounds. Jeff was as able to pull this nice finish off  fishing from a pontoon boat, solo, without the help and contribution of a partner.

The Carter Rasnake/Nate Horne team and Brandon Lilly/Seth Thompson teams both weighed in nice bass just shy of 4 pounds.

All fish were individually weighed and measured. This fish condition data is used to help monitor the health of FTL’s fish and fishery.

To keep our fish well fed - baitfish (small bluegills and golden shiners) were stocked in the lake by Outdoorsman Club members on August 14th. The baitfish were purchased with funding from both the FTL Board and the Outdoorsman Club.

The next tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 27th. Contact Brandon Lilly if you would like to be included on the tournament participant text list.
