Did You Know? ...the Top 5 Boating Violations on Our Lake

As boating season begins, here’s a quick reminder of the most common boating violations on our lake. Following these rules helps keep everyone safe and the lake enjoyable for all.

#1 – Pulling Tubes with Wave Runners
Wave Runners and other personal watercraft are not permitted to pull tubes or towables.

#2 – Pulling Tubes Without a Spotter
A dedicated spotter is required anytime someone is being towed. The driver’s attention should remain on operating the boat.

#3 – Traveling the Wrong Direction
Boat traffic should always move in a counterclockwise direction around the lake.

#4 – Boating Too Close to Shoreline
Maintain at least 50 feet from shorelines, docks, and swimmers, and stay to the left of all yellow buoys.

#5 – Excessive Speed in No Wake Zones
“No Wake” means idle speed only. Creating a wake in these areas can damage property and create safety hazards.

One More Important Reminder

After sunset, all watercraft must operate at IDLE SPEED ONLY.

Not sure when sunset is? An easy way to check is in the weather app on your phone.

Thank you for helping keep our lake safe and enjoyable for everyone this boating season!
